The dance troupe is composed of at least 30 high school students who are also members of the Couples for Christ (CFC) - Youth for Christ (YFC) in Pontevedra town.

"The group was formerly known as Youth for Christ Dance Troupe organized on November 2006 and was changed to Caguyuman Dance Troupe on May 2008 thru the effort of the Local Tourism Council and the Local Government of Pontevedra," said a Provincial Tourism Office (PTO) backgrounder on the dancers.
